Rider of the Month

We want YOU! the members of this group to nominate any rider from our group who you feel deserves a pat on the back for their actions in supporting the group or fellow cyclists.

We are not after world-shattering events (though they would be great) it’s more about the little things that make a positive difference OR a rider marking a personal achievement that they have been working towards that deserves recognition.

We ask that you message the admin team Or speak to any of the admin team when out riding with your nomination. You can even use the “contact us” page

At the end of the month, the admin team will review the nominations and select a winner for the month. (Maybe more than one if we have some great nominations). The rider of the month will get one of our (((EXCLUSIVE !)))Yaxley Riders Mugs. So to get you started thinking about the nomination process here are some examples of what we are looking for.

A rider lending a hand to sort out a mechanical on another rider's bike
A rider who will protect another in difficulty on a ride by going back to collect someone who has fallen off the group and staying with them till they are back on or have finished the ride
A rider hitting a cycling goal- longest ride - furthest ride- best average over a set distance
A rider being able to loan another rider kit or components to help them out in a difficult situation
A rider helping with transportation to enable another rider the opportunity to get to a specific location to start or finish a ride.
A rider who always takes their turn in the front and leads by example, ensuring the group stays together and no one gets dropped.
A rider who is always positive and supportive no matter what the situation or conditions helping keeping the group together in difficult times

The list is endless but hopefully, the examples above will give you a feel for the sort of nominations we are looking for.
